• 5/10/2008 - Old City Cemetery and “School Four”
Downtown and Riverside - Jacksonville, FL
This investigation took us to two of the most classic and infamous Jacksonville locations, Old City Cemetery and “School Four”!
Each, honestly, was a bit of a let down in it’s own way, but we did get a couple of things worth sharing! While Old City Cemetery was disappointing because of the noise, the homeless, and the decline of that part of the city in general… Annie Lytle Elementary School, a.k.a. “School Four” has proved to be a colossol “urban legend” run amuck. In fact, every Jacksonville resident would be well served to read my location page on “School Four”! It’s amazing how a little digging can “enlighten you” about many of the things you’ve believed for years!

Old city cemetery, as I described on the location page, isn’t an ideal place… Click here to read more!
• 4/27/2008 - Bell Cemetery II and Nolan Ridge IV
Jennings State Forest - Jacksonville, Florida area
We got two fair EVPs from our second visit to Bell Cemetery… both of them a direct response to what we were saying or doing! One of them is very hard to hear because I was using a new EVP recorder and I didn’t have the low filter set properly… it was lost in the rumble a little bit. It’s still barely there though!
Unfortunately, our audio evidence from our fourth visit to Nolan Ridge was CONTAMINATED! How was it contaminated?? ....By the loudest secada bugs in the history of the planet Earth! The more experience you have doing this stuff, the more you get amazed at what can ruin every bit of evidence you have.
Like I said, the Nolan Ridge audio had to be scrapped, but I’m pretty happy with the ones from Bell… Click here to read more!
• 4/26/2008 - Padgett-Mosley 2, St. Margaret’s, Little Ruth Church 2
Jennings State Forest and Green Cove Springs, FL
This investigation showcased the very brief life of my RCA digital voice recorder… which was promptly returned to Wal-Mart after I listened to the absolutely deplorable, horrendous quality! Lesson learned… don’t spend $30 on a DVR.
We went to three locations this time: a return to Padgett-Mosley, a new spot: St. Margaret’s Church, and a return to Little Ruth Church. We caught a couple of EVPs, including one that would have been a great one, but it was caught with that poor-quality RCA so it distorted! The one from St. Margaret’s was pretty good, though…
Let me say a few words about that RCA… it really was the poorest sounding audio I’d ever heard. It distorted so bad, even on low volume sections, that when I swore… it sounded like “Jeezthuth KKKKrrrrith”! lol.. I downloaded the… Click here to read more!
• 4/08/08 - Manning Cemetery and Nolan Ridge (III)
Jennings State Forest - Jacksonville, Florida area
Although there were some odd noises at Manning Cemetery, nothing really made the cut for presenting based on our standards. I guess that adds a little more to the theory that the place is either hot or not! Worthy of mention though, there was another creepy, loud whisper that was caught on BOTH recorders, but I couldn’t make out anything intelligible. I guess I need to leave an English Dictionary next time I go for better communication! lol…
However, never seeming to disappoint, Nolan Ridge gave us a couple of EVPs worth sharing, including BLOOD CURDLING SCREAMING and one from around the grave of “Katie G. Barrett"… again!
Don’t forget to reference the “related locations” link at the bottom for more information about these two locations and directions on how to get there so you can… Click here to read more!
• 4/06/08 - Ruth Church and “1800s” Cemetery
Green Cove Springs, FL
This was truly a mix of cemeteries today… one was modern, and one had Revolutionary War and Civil War veterans buried there! Unfortunately, the noise pollution was off-the-charts at the historic one. I think my ears are still ringing from trying to listen for evidence over the roar of the cars and trucks on the highway!
At Little Ruth Church, however, we did get a couple of interesting things (even though we weren’t chased by succubuses like the “urban legend” suggests). One of them seems to be a direct response, and the other one is a very strange EVP to say the least! If anyone can tell me what it says -and it’s saying things- please let me know!
So like I said, the historic Hickory Grove left us empty handed, but we got a couple… Click here to read more!
• 4/04/08 - Bell Cemetery and Nolan Ridge (II)
Jennings State Forest - Jacksonville, Florida area
This was a pretty “active” day, and we caught a lot of EVP evidence from both places. Bell Cemetery -although it’s nearly inaccessible- pleasantly surprised me. ...And at Nolan Ridge, once again we got both a “whispering voice” in the front part of the cemetery and another sound near “Katie G’s” grave! Although, this time the latter wasn’t a direct response, it was more like… wailing!
Please see the location links at the bottom to learn more about both of these locations. As always, you need headphones to listen to these!
Bell Cemetery...
Here are the entries from Bell’s Cemetery, and although these are hard to hear, they are definitely interesting. Even though the place is very hard to get to (but for some reason the car’s GPS system still had the trails on it, but… Click here to read more!
• 3/29/08 - Padgett-Mosley Cemetery and Nolan Ridge
Jennings State Forest - Jacksonville, Florida area
GHOSTS LOVE ME! Yes, you heard right… and I caught it on tape! Although the Padgett-Mosley investigation didn’t turn out any evidence for us, this visit to Nolan Ridge gave us two AMAZING EVPs.
Here are the two pieces of evidence from Nolan Ridge, and since I’m writing this after I have been back I can say that the two spots that we caught both of these in seem to have a pretty high rate of activity associated with them. One of those spots is the site of “Katie G. Padgett”, and she and her husband died at a very young age on the same day. Obviously, there was a lot of tragedy associated with those two being that they were killed on the same day.
Please see the “location” entry for these at the bottom… Click here to read more!
• 1/12/08 - Allen AME Church, Edisto Island, SC
Edisto Island, SC
It’s always “nice” to investigate in the middle of a scary place… especially when there is a REAL danger of alligators, snakes, psycho killers, and other various swamp monsters! Although we didn’t get any visual evidence or EVPs, we got a definite unexplainable sound… the sound of knocking on a tombstone right in front of us. We both heard it… and so did our recording devices!
This weekend, we tried out the new digital recorder at Edisto Island, SC. There are a LOT of old churches there with centuries-old graves, so we went EVP hunting.
Well, we didn’t get any strong EVP’s, but we something weird DID happen that we caught on the recording… First of all, let me paint the picture of where we were…
