4/26/2008 - Padgett-Mosley 2, St. Margaret’s, Little Ruth Church 2
This investigation showcased the very brief life of my RCA digital voice recorder… which was promptly returned to Wal-Mart after I listened to the absolutely deplorable, horrendous quality! Lesson learned… don’t spend $30 on a DVR.
We went to three locations this time: a return to Padgett-Mosley, a new spot: St. Margaret’s Church, and a return to Little Ruth Church. We caught a couple of EVPs, including one that would have been a great one, but it was caught with that poor-quality RCA so it distorted! The one from St. Margaret’s was pretty good, though…
Let me say a few words about that RCA… it really was the poorest sounding audio I’d ever heard. It distorted so bad, even on low volume sections, that when I swore… it sounded like “Jeezthuth KKKKrrrrith”! lol.. I downloaded the audio, we returned it to Wal-Mart, and we promptly went to Radio Shack where we bought the newest model of Olympus, and -of course- the quality is fantastic.
Don’t forget to check the location links at the bottom of this page so you can learn more about them, and as always… YOU NEED HEADPHONES TO HEAR THESE EVPS!
Padgett-Mosley II
Well… Padgett-Mosley once again turned up pretty dry. However, I did get an unusual, deep-sounding male voice at the grave of a soldier killed in action in France not too long following D-Day in World War II, but I couldn’t make out anything. As I type this, my audio evidence is on my computer that’s being repaired, so I couldn’t cross-reference the sound and see if my recorder actually picked up discernable words or phrases. I’ll update this if I find that it does.
St. Margaret’s Church
This is a really pretty cemetery that has some very old graves dating back to the mid 1800’s. We got two EVPs, and the first one is pretty good and in context, and the second one is just a strange female sounding background noise that is very “out of place”. Here are the EVPs…
-“I like this tree”-

This one is ok… it’s a little hard to hear, but what we hear, “I like this tree”, is completely in context to what we are talking about.
[camera turns on]
Katie: "I like that they left this tree and just put the benches around it."
John: "Yeah... now that's a big tree. Holy cow.."
Kaite: "Yeah... that's awesome"
[camera snaps a picture]
EVP: I LIKE THIS TREE
John: "Thank you, I wouldn't even have n-noticed that."
Katie: [laughs]
-Weird Female Noises-

This one isn’t anything to write home about, but it’s definitely some strange, female noises in the background that we can’t account for....
Little Ruth Church II
This was our second visit to Little Ruth Church, and we caught what I think WOULD have been a fantastic EVP. I completely feel that this would have been “Wind Chimes?”, but the distortion that occurs on almost every word made it so a “W” sound and a “Ch” sound is heard, but the rest of the words are unintelligible…
