Emails like this make it worth it!
Oct 15, 2008

So we’ve obviously been on hiatus from the site being that the last investigation was at the end of May!  Well, we had some side projects that we were working on -including one very busy other website (not related to anything paranormal!) but we are finally back in action!

So, we’re going through all the email, and I wanted to start of with this one that we received, because THIS is the type of stuff that really makes it all worth it!

Subject: Little Ruth EVP

hi,
My name is Shirley and my family were some of the founding members of Little Ruth Church.  Many of my family members are buried there, (Thacker, Hendley, Looney etc). We listened with great intrest of your EVP recordings, and the one of David Stiltner ( who was buried there early this year, only his skull and leg bone are buried there, he was found in the Ocala Forest in Feb. he had been missing for a while) Right after you say his name, we think the EVP says “Peacock” which was his nick name according to my Uncle who knew him.
We are still asking older family members for more information.
If you would like more information on our family cemetary, please let us know. Intresting note that there some unmarked graves of a couple of children that has since been ‘lost’. The original boundries were along my Great Grandparents’ graves, (as you go down the hill). The Cemetary was expanded about 15 years ago.
Maybe when you go back out there, let us know and we could join you, you might get more activity if there are family members out there.
Thank you,
Shirley *********

This is significant!  Why?  Because not only did I think that the EVP clearly says “Peacock” at the end, it doesn’t say “Peacock” anywhere at the grave site (so I had no clue WHY I would have that strange, abstract word on my recording), and I didn’t mention anywhere in the EVP’s description that I thought it said “Peacock”.  So, now we have confirmation that something that sounds an awful lot like “Peacock” is said right over the grave of a man with that nickname -but the nickname isn’t on the tombstone- and the family member heard the same thing I did!

I think this is all truly phenomenal, and here is the EVP we are talking about:

Ok, this one is VERY STRANGE, and pretty long for an EVP, and both recorders caught it!  Unfortunately, you can’t make out what it’s saying, but it’s definitely human sounding… and it clearly wasn’t us.

First, let me explain what I did in this clip… I spliced together one section from another recorder.  You can hear the sound quality change radically.  I did this because the second recorder caught a bit at the end that sounds like a whisper that the first one didn’t pick up (but the first one’s quality was much better during the first part).

If anyone can decipher what this is, I’d be happy to hear from you!  lol… Maybe this is what the alleged resident succubus sounds like!  After listening to it over and over, it does sound somewhat menacing…

John: "Leon... David Leon Stiltner..."
[LONG STRING OF GARBLED EVPS]
[QUICK INSERT OF WHISPERY EVP FROM SECOND RECORDER]

John: "They were only 50, right?"

Anyway, I hope you guys understand the significance of all of that!  Always suspecting that the word “Peacock” was said, wondering why on earth and EVP would say “Peacock”, and then having a family member tell me that “Peacock” was the guy’s nickname is pretty profound to me!  I’m really looking forward to going back to that graveyard and asking some more questions now that I know the history.  I’ll probably contact the family as well!

-John
